Professional Experience

November 2005 to Present

Health Promotion/Disease Prevention Coordinator for Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association. I specialize in community outreach/education, tobacco and diabetes prevention education, health communications/graphic design and technical writing. I am also the developer and supervisor of the Community Wellness Advocates.

May 2004 to November 2005

Tribal Liaison for the Alaska Native Epidemiology Center. I specialized in training medical paraprofessionals in graphic design/health communications for print; community outreach, web/graphic design and technical writing.

September 28, 2002 to Present

Technical Writer (formerly a Communications Specialist) for the ANTHC HIV/AIDS Services and HIV/AIDS Prevention Program in ANTHC in Anchorage, Alaska. This position utilized my skills in web development, presentation design, and desktop publishing. I created and maintained medical presentations, patient education materials, an educational site for medical providers, and am presently developing an online community for Aaska Natives who are HIV+. I wrote and received two $50k grants from the National Library of Medicine for this project.

September 18, 2000 to June 18, 2002

Instructor for the Media Design and Production, Interactive Web Design Program, at Clover Park Technical College in Lakewood, Washington. I prepared and presented curriculum to 19 to 43 students, varying in ages from 18 to 56, who were of diverse cultures, and different computer literacy levels. I provided training in such areas as:
